Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using CarChase to find your next vehicle.

About CarChase

What is CarChase?
CarChase is an AI-powered car search platform that lets you find vehicles using natural language. Instead of clicking through endless filters, just describe what you want—like "reliable SUV under $25K with good gas mileage" or "sports car that's fun but practical"—and our AI finds matching vehicles from dealerships nationwide.
How is CarChase different from other car search sites?
Traditional car sites make you fill out forms and click filters. CarChase lets you search the way you actually think about cars. Tell our AI what matters to you—budget, lifestyle, must-have features—and it understands context. You can ask follow-up questions, get recommendations, and have a real conversation about what you're looking for.
Is CarChase free to use?
CarChase offers a free tier that lets you browse listings, view car details, and use basic search filters. Premium features like the AI Agent, deal ratings, and unlimited history reports require a paid plan. We offer monthly Pro subscriptions, a 14-day pass for quick shoppers, and a lifetime option. Check our pricing page for details.
Where does CarChase get its listings?
We aggregate listings from dealerships across the United States through trusted automotive data providers. Our database includes new, used, and certified pre-owned vehicles from franchise and independent dealers. Inventory updates regularly, though availability can change quickly—always confirm with the dealer before visiting.

Using the AI Search

What can I ask the AI?
Almost anything car-related! Ask for vehicle recommendations, compare specific models, get advice on what to look for when buying, learn about features and specs, or ask about reliability and common issues. The AI can also help you understand financing, explain car terminology, and answer questions about the buying process.
Can I refine my search after getting results?
Yes! Just keep chatting. Say things like "show me only Toyotas" or "what about something with less miles?" or "I changed my mind, I want AWD." The AI remembers your conversation and adjusts the search accordingly.
How accurate are the AI's recommendations?
Our AI is trained to understand car shopping needs and matches you with relevant vehicles based on your criteria. However, AI can sometimes misinterpret requests or miss nuances. If results don't seem right, try rephrasing your search or being more specific. And remember—vehicle availability changes constantly, so always verify details with the dealer.

Browse Inventory

What is Browse Inventory?
Browse Inventory lets you explore vehicles using traditional filters if you prefer that approach. Filter by make, model, year, price, mileage, body type, and more. It's a good option when you know exactly what you want or just want to see what's available in your area.
Can I use both AI search and Browse Inventory?
Absolutely. Many users start with AI search to explore options, then use Browse Inventory to drill down on specific makes or models. Use whichever works best for your search style—or both.

Deal Ratings & Pricing

What do the deal ratings mean?
Our AI analyzes each listing's price against similar vehicles in the market, considering factors like mileage, age, trim level, condition, and regional pricing trends. Ratings help you quickly identify which vehicles are priced competitively. A "Great Deal" means the price is well below market average, while "Overpriced" suggests you might find better value elsewhere.
How reliable are the deal ratings?
Deal ratings are based on market data and provide a useful starting point, but they can't account for everything—like vehicle condition, accident history, or dealer reputation. Always do your own research, get a pre-purchase inspection, and check the vehicle history report before buying.
Are the listed prices final?
Prices shown are what dealers have listed, but the final price may vary. Dealers may add fees (documentation, destination, etc.) or the price may have changed since listing. Some dealers are also open to negotiation. Always confirm the out-the-door price with the dealer before committing.

Vehicle Listings

Does CarChase sell cars directly?
No, CarChase is a search platform that connects you with dealerships. We don't own inventory, sell vehicles, or handle transactions. When you find a car you like, you'll contact the dealer directly to arrange a test drive, negotiate price, and complete the purchase.
How do I contact a dealer about a vehicle?
Each vehicle listing shows the dealer's name, location, and contact options. You can view the dealer's website or call them directly. We recommend confirming the vehicle is still available before making the trip.
Why did a vehicle I was looking at disappear?
Vehicles sell fast, especially good deals. If a listing disappears, it's likely been sold or taken off the market. Our inventory updates regularly, but there's always a lag between when a car sells and when it's removed from listings. This is why we recommend contacting dealers promptly about vehicles you're interested in.
Can I see vehicle history or accident reports?
CarChase doesn't provide vehicle history reports, but we strongly recommend getting one before any used car purchase. Services like Carfax or AutoCheck can reveal accidents, title issues, service history, and odometer problems. Many dealers provide free reports—ask before visiting.

Account & Privacy

Do I need an account to use CarChase?
No, you can search for vehicles and use the AI chat without an account. Creating an account lets you save searches, bookmark vehicles, and access your history across devices—but it's completely optional.
Is my personal information secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. We don't sell your personal information to third parties. Your search history and conversations with the AI are used only to improve your experience. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us at [email protected] and we'll process your account deletion request. All your personal data, saved searches, and history will be permanently removed.

Troubleshooting

The AI isn't understanding my search. What should I do?
Try rephrasing your request or being more specific. Instead of "good car," try "reliable sedan under $20K with low miles." If the AI still struggles, use the Browse Inventory feature to search with traditional filters. You can also start a new chat to reset the conversation.
Search results aren't loading. What's wrong?
First, check your internet connection. Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. Make sure you've entered a valid ZIP code or city. If problems persist, try a different browser or device. Still having issues? Contact us at [email protected] with details about what's happening.
I found incorrect information on a listing. How do I report it?
Email us at [email protected] with the listing details and what information is incorrect. We rely on dealer-provided data, but we'll investigate and work to correct any issues. Your reports help us improve data quality for everyone.
